Our client seeks a Product Compliance and Test Engineer with a broad practical background in an electronic or mechanical engineering discipline, with a keen eye for detail, inquisitive mind and excellent communication and documentation skills.
The Product Compliance and Test Engineer will join the Hardware Development Team. You will ensure products meet all current product compliance and certification requirements for global market access, including safety, electromagnetic compatibility, material selection and security. You will also monitor the existing product range and manage compliance testing and documentation for new product introduction.
This role will also cover Quality Assurance testing of Hardware Team product developments (including electronics, mechanical and firmware) as well as helping define and run endurance and lifecycle testing of components to ensure that what is delivered to customers is defect free and durable enough for end-user environments.
The Product Compliance and Test Engineer will develop the documentation, tools and processes to manage product compliance data. Monitor for changes in compliance needs and react to changes. Research and provide feedback on compliance queries and a number of additional tasks including defining, running and analysing tests and experiments to qualify new components.
To be considered you will have a least 3 years’ experience in an engineering or test role and understands the entire electronic product development lifecycle. You will have a good understanding of core electrical principles (voltage, current, resistance, power) and can use basic test and measurement equipment. You will also:
- understand electronic product EMC and Safety Testing and product compliance needs
- have excellent IT skills using common business tools like excel, word, Powerpoint
- practical skills using hand tools for mechanical
- can write comprehensive, clear, and accurate documentation
- has high standards of written and spoken communication and keen eye for detail
On offer is a salary up to £35,000 depending on experience plus discretionary bonus scheme, life cover, company pension, etc. There is a flexible working environment with the opportunity to work from home where assigned tasks allow. However, due to the nature of the role it will involve frequent travel to their offices in Olney, that are commutable from Milton Keynes, Northampton and Bedford.
