We have a great opportunity for a Test Automation Lead who will be responsible for the strategic development, implementation and delivery of the automated testing programme.
As the Test Automation Lead you will ensure the framework, infrastructure and test scope are fit for purpose; increasing software quality and delivery timescales.
Working closely with the Software QA and Development teams, your principal role is to implement, deliver and maintain a suitable automated software testing strategy covering:
- Framework, tools, training and processes within the Technology.
- Processes, procedures, tools and ways of working to deliver on the agreed strategy.
- Determine & prioritise a roadmap of automated software test coverage including core and extended software functionalities, identifying the key areas to focus on initially.
- Maintain the repositories and matrix’s of features and functions.
- Analyse requirements and define automated test scripts.
- Executing tests and validating test results.
- Identify, analyse, and document any defects discovered during testing.
Duties may also include developing software test tools, performing load tests or simulations. Ensure to keep visibility and communication active with your team leaders and management in regards to automation strategy. Develop KPIs and Reporting Metrics to show the overall automated test coverage and metrics to show the outcome over time.
Applicants must be enthusiastic, highly motivated and methodical with an attention to detail and an appetite for testing and evaluating new and existing products and solutions. You will have a keen and solid interest in automated software solutions and excellent communication skills.
To be considered you must have proven experience of test automation development using tools such as SmartBear TestComplete, CITS, Selenium, UFT, Rapise, Katalon etc. You will have strong understanding and appreciation of test automation principles, 5+ years practical experience in product/software testing and quality assurance engineering and good knowledge of the software development and software testing lifecycles.
Candidates should have experience testing browser and desktop-based applications and worked in a Agile software development environment (Scrum). You will also have administrative experience with Windows based Operating Systems (client and server) and proven experience using SQL Server and writing advanced SQL queries. Experience with the Zephyr test case management system and Jira issue management system also beneficial.
Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI or similar software and ISEB, ISTQB, or other relevant qualifications/experience would be an advantage but not essential.
